“I can’t wait for you to discover your bravest, best YOU.”

In conversation with Sarah Hehir, founder of Beyond Brave Wellness

Q: What inspired you to start Beyond Brave Wellness?
Sarah: Maybe this sounds familiar: constant fatigue, stubborn belly fat, bloating no matter what you try, trouble sleeping, mood swings, brain fog, a changing libido, or simply not feeling like yourself anymore.

The crazy part? I thought I was doing everything right. I was up early for HIIT workouts in a fasted state, drinking green smoothies, eating clean, lifting weights, and always on the go. So when did my body stop cooperating? Suddenly I couldn’t fit into my skinny jeans, even salads left me feeling bloated, and by 2 p.m. I was completely out of energy.

As a physical therapist, I couldn’t understand what was happening. My labs, according to standard medicine, were “good”—nothing out of range or raising any red flags. I started wondering: Was it all in my head? Was this just what midlife felt like? Instead of accepting that answer, I started digging deeper.

Q: What did you discover when you looked deeper?
Sarah: That’s when I discovered Functional Diagnostic Nutrition (FDN). Through functional lab testing, I finally began to understand what standard bloodwork had missed. My hormones had been heavily impacted after years of birth control—at 40, they looked more like someone who was post-menopausal. My digestive system wasn’t absorbing nutrients the way it should, and my liver and detox pathways needed support.

It was a wake-up call. Functional labs can reveal patterns that traditional testing often doesn’t explore, giving me the information I needed to build a natural, personalized plan. Little by little, I got back to feeling like myself again—confident, energized, healthy, and ready to take on life and business.

That experience became the foundation for Beyond Brave Wellness.

One thing I know for sure is this: Symptoms are never the problem; they’re the result of a problem hiding beneath the surface. My goal is to help women feel heard, uncover what’s really going on, and create a personalized plan based on their labs, their lifestyle, and their story—not simply tell them that “everything looks fine.”

Q: What’s one thing you wish more women knew about their health?
Sarah: One of the greatest gifts a woman can have is a connected relationship with her own body—and the confidence to advocate for herself when something doesn’t feel right. So, is your body trying to tell you something?
